This summer, our student ministry is taking a team to Harrisburg and Hershey, Pennsylvania for a short-term mission trip. We are partnering with a local pastor, part of the SBC and Send Network, who is passionate about reaching this area with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He leads a bilingual (Spanish and English) church plant called Vida Life Mission Church. This trip will provide many opportunities for evangelism!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are some of the things we'll be doing on this trip?
A: We are partnering with a local pastor for evangelism opportunities. On this trip you will have the opportunity to serve and share the gospel with those experiencing homelessness in the city of Harrisburg. Around Hershey, there are several agricultural camps where migrant workers live. We will have opportunities to provide meals, build relationships, and share the gospel with this forgotten and unreached group.

Q: Where will we be staying?
A: We are staying at a hotel in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Q: How many people are going on this trip?
A: We plan to bring a team of 12 students and 4 adult leaders.

Q: How can I best prepare myself to go on a mission trip?
A: In preparation for this trip, all team members will be required to read the book "What is the Gospel?" by Greg Gilbert. This is a great resource to help you think through sharing the gospel in a clear, concise way. We will also host a pre-trip team meeting!

Q: Are meals included in the cost of the trip?
A: Yes! All meals and snacks are covered under the cost of the trip.

Q: What will a typical day look like?
A: On a typical day, we will have breakfast together at the hotel then head over to the church for evangelism training. Most mornings we will be serving those experiencing homelessness in Harrisburg. Most afternoons we will spend our time at the agricultural camps. At night we will have some time for fun activities!

Q: What fun activities are planned for this trip?
A: One evening we will head over to Hershey's Chocolate World, this is a free attraction located in Hershey that explores the chocolate-making process. You may bring additional money for souvenirs if you desire.
