Community Ministries
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
ESOL is a CBC outreach program to serve, welcome, and demonstrate the love of Christ to our international community. ESOL consists of weekly English classes that are provided at low cost to our neighbors who are looking to advance their English skills and learn more about American life and culture. Students can also be paired with conversation partners to meet outside of class time to practice English in an informal setting. ESOL is a vehicle for obeying God's call to joyfully serve our neighbors and build relationships that lead to gospel conversations with all the nations that are present right in our backyard.

Afghan Refugee Ministry
When the Taliban took over Afghanistan in 2021, they began a reign of oppression, terror, and violence. Refugees sought safety and a new life here in America. Many had been contractors with the U.S. government/military and were well educated. As a number of refugees were resettled in Virginia, God opened our eyes to this opportunity to demonstrate His love and share the Gospel with people who would never have had the chance to learn about God in Afghanistan. The Afghan Refugee Ministry is a local homegrown effort, started by Centreville Presbyterian and spread to include a network of churches in the area. We build relationships by meeting physical and emotional needs, partnering with parachurch organizations and local Christian charities. We also assist refugees with cultural communication and do periodic visitation. The goal is to create relational bonds that lead to Gospel conversations. This is a perfect opportunity for families to serve together!

China Outreach Ministries
China Outreach Ministries extends God’s love and truth to visiting Chinese students and scholars at American universities. Many of these students have never heard about God before, but we want to lead them to become followers of Christ and carry the Gospel back home. Campus staff and volunteers build relationships through hospitality, practical service, and friendship.

Sheep of Salvation Feeding Ministry
Founded by Niko Brown, a CBC member, Sheep of Salvation Feeding Ministry (SOS) is a faith-based nonprofit devoted to answering Jesus’ call to feed the hungry, grounded in the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25:31–41).
SOS serve individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, As an expression of their faith and commitment to love our neighbors through tangible acts of compassion, Niko and the team invest their time, expertise, and resources to develop innovative programs that confront hunger with dignity, respect, and purpose, affirming the inherent value of every person as fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God.
Through Shepherds Pantry Ministry, SOS is launching a network of food pantries, with our first pantry planned to open in Dale City in 2026. These pantries prioritize access to fresh produce, proteins, and dairy—nutrient-dense foods often out of reach for food-insecure families. Through Transporting Hope, SOS delivers food directly to underserved communities while supporting mobile food distributions, partner pantries, and hot meal programs.
